Sacai VaporWaffle 'Red Green'
Chitose Abe's latest collaboration with Nike is one of the most hyped of the year. Finally, a release date has been unveiled for the sacai x Nike VaporWaffle Red Green. After first being spotted way back when at Paris Fashion Week, sneakerheads from all over have been eagerly anticipating the release and manifesting a W.
With the upper being constructed of neutral, beige mesh and suede, burgundy overlays, sacai have added a green laces and matching suede panelling around the eyelets that just pop. As with the other sacai x Nike VaporWaffles, this silhouette screams, 'why have one, when you can have two?'. Two sets of laces, two tongues and doubled-up Swooshes across the sidewalls shows that there is no such thing as overkill on this sneaker.
The most predominant Swoosh overlays the light-coloured mesh upper in jet-black leather, with its shadow plastered in white further down nearer to the midsole. Most iconically, said midsole splits when it reaches the heel, with one panel curling up and the other carrying on forward to create a futuristic and jaw-dropping design.
